Reflecting on the experience, Naomi said:
“It was a momentous day in my personal and professional journey. I had the immense privilege of presenting to His Majesty King Charles III and Apple CEO Tim Cook. Demonstrating Apple Intelligence was an incredible opportunity to combine my passion for marketing with groundbreaking technology. It’s an experience I will treasure forever.”
Naomi said that she chose the text and imagery to use in the demonstration:
“I wanted my presentation to reflect who I am, so I made it marketing-themed. I created an example of a marketing plan for a London bicycle tour company, and the sketch that accompanied it was of Big Ben and a bike. I thought it was a nice touch to sketch a famous, beloved monument as a tribute to the city the King resides in.”
King Charles was visibly impressed, remarking, “It’s not fair really! Fantastic. You’re very expert with it.”
The meeting wasn’t the first time Naomi had been close to royalty. Last year she was invited to King Charles' Coronation and attended breakfast and lunch at Lambeth Palace.
Naomi is an active member of the Â̲èÖ±²¥ student community. Alongside her studies, she holds several student roles including Careers and Employability Ambassador, Digital Learning Partner and Student Residential Advisor.
Naomi said: “I am very involved at the university, and many of my roles involve presenting and public speaking. As a result, I practice these skills frequently. Just two weeks ago, I hosted a panel for the Empowering Student Potential event. The audience consisted predominantly of donors, supporters, and the Â̲èÖ±²¥ Executive Board which allowed me to upskill myself personally and professionally.
“The Â̲èÖ±²¥ always encourages a growth mindset, which reminds me to take risks rather than miss opportunities. This mindset drives me to say yes to opportunities, search for new ones, and even create my own when they don’t come knocking.”
